Our Mission
Our mission is to help clients achieve their objectives, despite adversity, by building resilience into their strategy and operations.
Our Story
The original Trailmark Company started a long time ago.
After completing the Appalachian Trail with a college friend, I received a certificate in the mail. But it was damaged, with a hole through the cardboard envelope.
So we crafted a walnut plaque, engraved with a trail marker. For many years my wife and I produced these awards as a side-gig for hikers who completed the Trail. Fast forward. Trailmark is no longer about awards for hiking.
Trailmark now helps large and small organizations achieve their objectives, despite adversity. We are building Strategic Resilience.
The name Trailmark evokes clarity of intent and collaboration along a journey. A focus on long-term goals. A map that builds confidence in the chosen path. Despite ambiguity and daily distractions. Despite resource constraints and conflict. Building a team with aligned incentives. Empowering leaders, and those who follow. To invest wisely today, a portfolio of strategic and operational capabilities. Aligned on the mission, prepared for disruption. Building Strategic Resilience.
It is a privilege to help organizations succeed. To overcome strategic and operational threats that might otherwise disrupt their journey, their mission, their success.
Our Experience
In my first role as a partner in a small business, I designed backup telecommunications to help keep my clients operational. I learned there is always a bottleneck somewhere in the system, and to focus on it.
PriceWaterhouse Coopers in the NYC area provided opportunities with larger clients and teams, and then 9/11 happened. People who had skills in operational and technical resilience were needed to guide C-suite and Board of Director mandates for business continuity and crisis management. We were busy.
Organizations rely on telecommunications. It needs to work. Some organizations take this seriously. Our team at Verizon deployed many times during a crisis, coordinating and bringing telecommunications to customers and agencies in disaster zones. It was part of our brand promise.
Strategy is about planning, adapting, and executing for ‘blue-sky’ days of innovation or ‘dark-sky’ days of disruption. It requires clarity of intent.
With industries and ecosystems continuing to evolve and face disruption, Trailmark is focused on expanding the resilience profession, to help clients thrive in the face of disruption.
To build Strategic Resilience.
